One of the most important steps to take when you are trying out new dog food is to SLOWLY switch their food. Take a look at the infographic below from Purina that shows the correct way to switch your dog’s food.
Participants in the challenge have noticed effects like their dog being more energetic, having healthier teeth, a shinier coat, and brighter/clearer eyes! The weekly observances that Purina suggests you will see during this challenge are:
Day 1: Mealtime excitement – they’ll want to eat everything in their bowl.
Day 7: Vibrant Healthy Energy
Day 14: High Digestibility (not applicable to the Dog Healthy Weight dry food or any of the wet food).
Day 21: Sparkling bright eyes & Radiant Shiny Coat
Day 28: Strong teeth, Joints, Muscles, and Immune Health
Here’s what we noticed during our own challenge:
Day 1: Our dogs were extremely excited the second we opened the bag. They couldn’t wait to eat up their food! Their bowls were cleaned out quite quickly!
Day 7: Sophie & Ollie continued to be their normal active selves and definitely didn’t slow down one bit!
Day 21: This week, I did notice subtle improvements in their coats and eyes. The whites of their eyes are very bright and clear!
Day 28: We’ve always used products to keep their teeth and gums healthy, so this one was tough to gauge if the challenge helped, but we definitely didn’t see any negative effects! 🙂
Overall, this was a really good challenge. It shows that our dogs are happy and healthy on different food brands and enjoy their meals! We’re so happy to have our dogs with us daily and can’t wait to go on more adventures with them!

I don’t have a dog but I admit I’m thinking about it and I’ve always wondered if Purina was actually the top of the range as far as food is concerned.
Your dogs look really healthy and happy! I was at the vet yesterday and I was advised that our fur baby needs to go on a hypoallergenic kind of dog food. I wonder if Purina has something like that? I will have to check that out too.
I’ve never heard of the Purina One brand, do they have the same brand for cats? I will check it out for sure.
