Today, I am SUPER excited to share with you my new must-have product!  It’s totally essential for all you ladies that get your hair colored/hi-lighted/low-lighted to hide your roots!! It’s called Rootflage and I’m going to make sure that I’m NEVER caught without it. 

What is this Rootflage and how does it work?

{BEFORE – picture above}  Ewww… I know. Here’s the story: I’ve been recently going to my cousin to get my hair done. She does an amazing job and gives me family pricing! (yay!) When I arrived at the salon and sat down, the hairdresser was getting over a cold and I felt like I was going to catch her bug at any moment. haha. But that wasn’t the worst part…

I showed her pictures of what I wanted for my cut and color. She immediately debated with me and said that I didn’t want that color. Still not convinced, she mixed the colors anyways. After about 1 min of highlighting, I asked her to highlight closer to my roots since she was leaving WAY too much space.  She apologized and said the cold was making her foggy. Great.  After everything was rinsed and dried, it didn’t look like anything was done with my hair. I could still see my roots and they were DARK. I mentioned that to her and she said it was the lighting. Whatever. Then she cut my hair and did a very good job at that. I was pleased with the cut, at least.  She then curled my hair and made me look like “Annie.” I’m telling you, this experience was starting to feel like a “hard knock life.” At this point, I just wanted to leave.  I used up my entire gift card (which was about 4x the amount my cousin charges, btw) and went home.  (I won’t be returning there, needless to say.)

After brushing out the curled madness, the style looked much better. But the highlights were barely visible and were still so far away from my roots! Ugh. Even at Christmas some of my friends and family asked me when I’d be getting my hair done next. Umm… I got it done 3 days ago! I was tempted to go back in and get it fixed, but really didn’t want to step in that place again. Plus, another 3+ hours sitting in a chair getting my hair done was NOT appealing when I have so many other things to do.

HOW TO USE ROOTFLAGE TO HIDE YOUR ROOTS:

Option 1: Apply Rootflage directly onto hair by firmly tapping the pink brush head, brushing powder onto roots and blending. Powder will come through the small hole in the center of the brush. (My preferred option!)

Option 2: Apply Rootflage by carefully unscrewing pink brush head and dipping corner of pink brush into powder. Apply powder to your roots and blend with pink brush. 

Option 3: For a detailed application, unscrew pink brush head and dip a small precision brush into powder and apply to your roots, blend with brush. 

Make sure to apply a light mist of hairspray to ensure Rootflage doesn’t rub off.
